Hagie Manufacturing Co. began expanding its manufacturing and sales in the 1950s and built a revolutionary sprayer in 1960, the model 430, which was the first rear-wheel-drive sprayer with a front-mounted boom. In the years that followed, Hagie introduced innovations like the high-clearance nitrogen application bar, hydraulic twin tank, active suspension, increased boom width, and higher gallon capacities.
Beginning in 2004, Hagie incorporated technology like field computers, auto steer, injection systems, and other custom configurations into its chemical applicators, building upon its legacy of invention and innovation.
In 2016, John Deere acquired majority ownership of Hagie Manufacturing and integrated the company’s precision technology into the high-clearance sprayers. In 2020, John Deere acquired the remainder of Hagie ownership.
